There are multiple ways Cyrus can help you discover whether or not your personal information is available on the dark web. First, here's a quick overview of what the dark web is:

The dark web is a part of the internet that isn't indexed by search engines. You've no doubt heard talk of the “dark web” as a hotbed of criminal activity — and it is. One of the hottest commodities on the dark web is personal information. That's just scratching the surface.

We're not writing this to scare you, but you should be on high alert, because this threat is REAL.

How can you find out if your personal information can be found on the dark web?

Option 1: Activate our Online Account Protection feature. By doing so, we'll continuously monitor your primary online account(s) for data breaches; past, present and future. This ongoing monitoring will also notify you instantly if/when your account password changes, if a new device or suspicious login is detected using this account, and if any of your other security settings change.

Option 2: You don't even need to install the Cyrus App to take advantage! You can simply send any email from your primary email address to [email protected]. Within minutes you'll receive a report which will share not only which personal information items were found on the dark web, but how many times. This method can be done manually, whenever you want, but is isolated each time you send the email, and is not continuous.

If any of these issues arise, there is a good chance your information (ie, email address and password) were found on the dark web. Let's stay ahead of it and activate Online Account Protection using the Cyrus App (if you're not already). At the very least, you should send an email to [email protected] to get the report right away to see what personal information is out there!
